TROY – Appalachian State’s offense exploded for 17 hits to blow past Troy 12-2 in game two of the Sun Belt series Saturday afternoon at Riddle-Pace Field.
Troy (25-21, 11-12) fell behind early and was not able to respond until a two-run eighth.
Mason Rogers and Hunter Mercer were bright spots at the plate for the Trojans – Rogers went 2-for-4 for his second consecutive multi-hit game, while Mercer finished 2-for-4 with a double.
Daren Osby (4-4) suffered the loss for Troy after allowing six runs on five hits and a walk in 1 1/3 innings of work.
