HOUSTON - Despite a 24-point effort from Shaq Goodwin and a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double from Dedric Lawson, Memphis fell to a strong-shooting Houston squad on Wednesday evening by a 98-90 final score.
For Goodwin, it was his second straight 20-point effort, while Lawson recorded his 10th career double-double. Craig Randall II scored a career-high 10 points, while Trahson Burrell also tallied 10 points in the loss.
Memphis out-rebounded Houston 36-to-29 in the game, as Goodwin added seven rebounds and five from Avery Woodson.
With his point total, Goodwin moved past former Tiger standout David Vaughn into 18th place in the school record book, with Alvin Wright and Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway next up, sitting nine points ahead of the Memphis senior.
