MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois scored a run in the top of the ninth to send the series opener with Memphis into extra innings and scored the game-winning run in the 11th to take down the Tigers at FedExPark. The series will continue Saturday at 2 p.m.
Eastern Illinois managed to get the leadoff runner on base in each of the first three innings and that runner then stole second base and scored each time to give the Panthers a 3-0 lead through three innings.
In all the Panthers got the leadoff runner on in eight of the 11 frames and scored at least a run in nine of the 11.
