STATESBORO, Ga. – Memphis was shut out for the first time since 2014 as Georgia Southern won 5-0 and took the series over the Tigers Saturday night at J.I. Clements Stadium. The series finale is Sunday at noon (CT).
Georgia Southern got the scoring started with two runs in the second inning and never looked back. A leadoff walk opened the inning and a double lined off of Connor Alexander put two runners in scoring position with no outs. The Eagles were able to take the lead on an RBI groundout to second base.
