Three Memphis Teams Earn NCAA Public Recognition Awards

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the fifth-straight year, the University of Memphis Athletics Department had at least of its three programs receive Academic Progress Rate (APR) public recognition from the NCAA. The NCAA national office released its list of institutions and athletics teams receiving Public Recognition Awards Monday.

This year, the three Memphis programs that received NCAA Public Recognition Awards were men's cross country, rifle and women's golf. Memphis tied for fourth among American Athletic Conference member institutions in number of NCAA Public Recognition Awards received and only trailed Tulane (seven), Connecticut (four) and Temple (four).

The Academic Progress Rate is a real-time measure of eligibility and retention of student-athletes competing on every Division I sports team.
