Strong Second Half Propels Memphis Past Manhattan, 89-57

Memphis shrugged off a slow start to outscore Manhattan 53-19 in the second half and the Tigers cruised to an 89-57 win Saturday night at FedExForum. Dedric Lawson led all scorers with 21 points and pulled down a game-high eight rebounds.

The Tigers used a 9-0 run in the first half to take their first lead of the game 10 minutes into the contest. Memphis grew its lead out to nine points in the first period but the Jaspers closed the half on a 13-2 run to lead 38-36 at halftime.

Memphis was completely dominant in the second half though and finished the game with its largest lead of the contest, 32 points.
