Softball Sweeps Youngstown State

MEMPHIS – The Memphis softball team (8-14) remains undefeated at home with a doubleheader sweep of Youngstown State (7-9), Tuesday. Memphis won game one 13-5, then won game two, 4-2.

"I'm proud of our pitchers for doing what we needed to do. Our staff did a good job of working ahead and keeping us in the game," Head Coach Natalie Poole said.

Game one was a slugfest, with the Tigers knocking out 15 hits and scoring 13 runs in a 13-5 victory. With the game tied at three, Memphis hit the bottom of the third and went to work on Penguin starting pitcher Caitlyn Minney.
