Softball Closes Tourney With 4-1 Win

Box Score MEMPHIS – After Nicholls (10-5) scored a run in the top of the first inning, the Memphis softball team (4-10) did not allow another baserunner to reach second base in a 4-1 win to wrap up the Tigers' schedule at the Mississippi Gulfport Classic, Saturday.

The visiting team from Nicholls State got on the board in the top of the first inning. Amanda Gianelloni drew a walk and scored when Alexis Huss doubled to right center field. But that was the lone run the Colonels would push across the plate, as Memphis got 18 of the next 22 batters out before they could reach base.
