MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Darien Tubbs doubled to leadoff the 13th inning and scored on a sacrifice fly by Zach Schritenthal as Memphis walked off for the series-evening win over Eastern Illinois Saturday at FedExPark.
Jonathan Bowlan earned his first career win with a scoreless inning of relief. Bowlan, Trey McNickle, Drew Crosby and James Muse combined to pitch 5 1/3 scoreless innings of relief.
Memphis starting pitcher Connor Alexander was brilliant on the mound, tossing 7 2/3 innings and allowed just one run on three hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
