MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis exploded for 11 runs on 14 hits to finish off the sweep of SIU Edwardsville with an 11-5 win Sunday at FedExPark. The Tigers got their third straight quality start of the weekend as Matt Ferguson allowed one run on six hits in six innings pitched.
Third baseman Zach Schritenthal had a big day at the plate, going 2-for-5 with a triple and four RBI. The outfield trio of Darien Tubbs, Chris Carrier and Jake Little also had multi-hit games.
Tubbs smashed a home run to lead off the ballgame for Memphis, giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead right out of the gate.
