MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Despite a two home run game by right fielder Jake Little, Memphis lost 8-2 to Middle Tennessee Tuesday at Reese Smith Jr. Field. The two teams will play again Wednesday at the Ballpark at Jackson at 6 p.m.
Little homered in the fourth inning to tie the game 1-1 and then hit his second out in the eighth inning.
Middle Tennessee grabbed the lead on the first pitch of the bottom of the second inning on a solo home run by designated hitter Blake Benefield. Memphis starter James Muse rebounded nicely though and got out of the inning without any more damage.
