Recap: Houston Dynamo 2, Sporting Kansas City 1

Houston Dynamo fought hard to keep their playoff hopes alive Wednesday night, taking down Sporting KC 2-1. The Dynamo made it one step closer to their first playoff berth in three years with the win.

After a slow start, midfielder Jimmy Meranda scored first to put SKC up at half, but the Dynamo were not ready to give up the match. In the 63rd minute Tomás Martínez volleyed in the equalizer after a laser cross from defender AJ DeLaGarza. SKC just needed a draw to punch their ticket for the playoffs, but a late second-half own goal by Erik Palmer-Brown proved to be too costly.
