If nothing more than a playoff berth and first-round elimination comes from the next week, the Dynamo still will view the 2017 season as successful.
Now that they have accomplished the major goal in coach Wilmer Cabrera’s first year, however, they’re hunting for more.
The Dynamo (12-10-11) face the Chicago Fire (16-10-7) in the regular season finale at 3 p.m. Sunday at BBVA Compass Stadium. They are assured of a postseason game Wednesday or Thursday, but if they win and get at least one other result to go their way, they could move up in the final standings and play that game at home.
