The game before the games has not even started, but if U.S. Soccer gives Houston the opportunity to host a World Cup game in nine years the city will be ready.
The United States, Mexico and Canada soccer federations on Monday announced their intent to jointly bid on hosting the 2026 World Cup. It was presented to FIFA as a 60-10-10 split for games with the U.S. getting the lion's share.
There is still a long way to go – potentially as long as three years – before FIFA decides which country or region will get the 2026 event.
