The Houston Dynamo announced yesterday they’ve signed former RGVFC Toros midfielder Eric Bird to a first team contract. Over his two seasons with the Dynamo’s hybrid affiliate, he scored ten goals and tallied four assists.
Bird, a 2015 SuperDraft pick by the Philadelphia Union, is a very skilled player, but the main talent he’s bringing to Houston is versatility in the midfield. During the Toros inaugural season in 2016, Bird featured both as a starter and a super substitute, primarily in an attacking midfield role. He was able to net some very important goals in the second half for a club that finished 2nd in the USL’s Western Conference.
