Dynamo’s Vicente Sanchez embraced late-season role from start

When Vicente Sanchez found out he would have to wait to get play significant minutes with the Dynamo, he was all in on the idea.

Signed last off-season, the 37-year old Uruguayan playmaker was billed as an extension of coach Wilmer Cabrera – a bridge from the head coach to the players.

It turns out Cabrera had something else in mind, too. Let Sanchez loose during the most magnified matches of the season.

Cabrera said recently he envisioned Sanchez as a player who could make a difference with his experience during the closing stretch. Sanchez welcomed Cabrera’s plan.
