When Tyler Deric played through the 19th minute last weekend, he surpassed his playing time against the Columbus Crew SC from last season.
It was a small bar simply to not be sent off early in the game like Deric was last April in Ohio, but at this point every bar he clears in 2017 helps ease the pain of what was a lost year in 2016.
Expected to be a difference maker at goalkeeper last season, Deric began the season injured. Then, in his first game back he received a red card in the 18th minute against Columbus when he raced off his line and fouled Federico Higuain while taking a swipe at the ball in the penalty area.
