Five days after his father died, Erick Torres could be in the Dynamo's starting XI.
Coach Wilmer Cabrera on Tuesday said Torres has had a strong state of mind since returning to Houston following his weekend trip to Mexico.
Torres was granted leave from the team Thursday to be with his family in Guadalajara, where his father had been fighting leukemia.
Torres, who has set a club record by scoring 14 goals this season, trained with the Dynamo Monday and Tuesday and will be ready if called upon Wednesday night when the Dynamo face Sporting Kansas City at BBVA Compass Stadium.
