The Dynamo have granted Jake McGuire’s request to be waived, making him available to any other MLS club.
The Dynamo earlier this week gave permission to the goalkeeper to join the Philadelphia Union on trial. That is his most likely landing spot.
McGuire was the Dynamo’s second-round pick (30th overall) in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft out of Tulsa but was not signed to a contract. McGuire trained with the Dynamo first team throughout the preseason and played in a closed-door scrimmage against the Colorado Rapids.
The Dynamo planned to sign him to a USL contract so he could play with Rio Grande Valley FC this season.
