Welcome home, Arturo Alvarez.
Alvarez has played all over MLS and in Europe, but he’s never played in his hometown of Houston. The Dynamo changed that Sunday morning when they traded for the 32-year old attacker of the Chicago Fire.
In exchange for Alvarez, the Fire receive a second-round pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft from the Dynamo.
Alvarez attended St. Thomas High School as a freshman and sophomore, leading the Eagles to the state title as a sophomore. He transferred to Mayde Creek for his junior and senior years. He led Bear Creek United to the regional finals in 2002.
