Dynamo pick LA Galaxy defender Leonardo in Re-Entry Draft

The Dynamo continued to add to their roster Thursday when they selected LA Galaxy center back Leonardo Da Silva in stage 2 of the MLS Re-Entry draft.

The 28-year old Brazilian appeared in 85 matches with 79 starts for the Galaxy from 2010-2016. He started 26 games in 2015 but only four in 2016 due to injury. The Galaxy declined the option on his contract for the 2017 season.

By selecting Leonardo in the Re-Entry Draft, the Dynamo obtain the exclusive rights to negotiate a contract with him. With the Galaxy last season Leonardo had a salary of $160,000 according to the MLS Players Union.
