This month, Heavner is in Houston training with the Dynamo as they prepare for their Western Conference finals series against reigning MLS champion Seattle Sounders FC. The Dynamo had an opening in their goalkeeper trio when the league suspended Tyler Deric.
The league allows teams to call up players from their USL affiliates in cases of extreme hardship, but that was not ideal for the Dynamo this time because Rio Grande Valley FC's season has been over for a month.
