Though the Dynamo do not hold the trump card, the possibility of staying home for the playoffs’ knockout round is plenty motivation for Sunday’s regular season finale.
The Dynamo can do no worse than the No. 5 seed, but if they defeat the Chicago Fire and get some help they could move up to the Nos. 3 or 4 seeds. If they do that they’ll get a home game for the postseason opener.
The help they need is not complicated, but the Dynamo refuse to consider those possibilities as they prepare for the weekend.
“We don’t want to speculate about anything because it is only speculation,” coach Wilmer Cabrera said.
