Dynamo fall to Sporting Kansas City in U.S. Open Cup

The Dynamo's run in the U.S. Open Cup ended abruptly Wednesday night, but thanks to some controversy they were left to wonder what could have been.

Sporting Kansas City's Ike Opara scored on a header in the second half, and Gerso Fernandes scored in the first minute of second-half added time to give the visitors a 2-0 victory over the Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Sporting KC advances to the quarterfinals to face FC Dallas in two weeks.

In the 63rd minute – two minutes after Opara's goal – the Dynamo thought they had a great opportunity to tie it only to be on the wrong side of a missed call by the referee.
