It took Carli Lloyd one game with the Dash to discover one important aspect in which the team needs to improve – fitness.
Lloyd, the two-time reigning FIFA Women's Player of the Year, recently returned from a stint playing with Manchester City and started for the Dash in their 4-2 loss to the Orlando Pride Saturday night at BBVA Compass Stadium.
"I'm not sure what's been going on for the last three months as far as training, but in my opinion, we're not fit enough," Lloyd said. "If you're not fit in this league and you can't run all game long, especially in this heat, we're not going to win games.
