Jane Campbell has been playing soccer for the better part of two decades. In one moment on Sunday afternoon, however, it looked like she was playing for the first time.
Who could blame her? It was the biggest moment of her life.
Campbell made her debut with the U.S. women's national team when she subbed on in the 74th minute of a friendly against Russia at BBVA Compass Stadium.
The protocol for a soccer sub is to run onto the field after the player being replaced comes off. Campbell jumped the gun twice before fellow goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris got all the way to the sideline.
