There are not many two-word phrases that sound better to a soccer fan than ‘early goal.’ It was extra sweet when the Dynamo scored one on Sunday.
Needing a victory over Chicago as part of the formula for securing a home playoff game, the Dynamo scored in the second minute when Leonardo headed home Adolfo Machado’s long throw-in 82 seconds into the game.
It was far from the Dynamo’s first early goal in 2017. They have been good at it.
Leonardo’s goal was the third the Dynamo have scored this season in the first two minutes and their fifth in the first five minutes.
