Alberth Elis returned to the Dynamo starting lineup Saturday night and showed the home crowd exactly why he should be there on a regular basis.
Elis scored a goal in the first half and assisted on another in the second half as the Dynamo defeated the San Jose Earthquakes, 3-0, at BBVA Compass Stadium.
The Dynamo vault into a first-place tie in the Western Conference with Seattle Sounders FC and Sporting Kansas City. They also remain unbeaten at home with a 9-0-3 record.
The game was tight until the late stages when Vicente Sanchez scored in the 86th minute and Mauro Manotas scored in the fourth minute of added time.
